The Santa Monica Pier attracts over 8 million tourists annually, and in 1983 it was destroyed by a storm. This photograph was taken from the top of the Ferris Wheel during sunset. The stormy sky against the vast ocean is a reminder of the Pier’s past. Photographed in Santa Monica, CA / 2014
